The Prize in Category 4 - Education, Training and Awareness Raising has been awarded to the International Built Heritage Conservation Training Centre in Bonţida in Romania. This centre offers theoretical and practical on-site training in the skills of stonemasonry, masonry consolidation and carpentry at the centre, the threatened baroque Bánffy Castle. Lectures are followed by hands-on learning in practical workshops, in which the students are involved in real restoration projects. So far more than 800 trainees (craftsmen and university students) from 13 European countries and overseas have been trained and important parts of the unique Bánffy Castle were restored.
The project is highly appreciated for its twin approach: training for conservation / conservation through training.
The Built Heritage Conservation Training Centre is an excellent example of cross border exchange of knowledge and a worthy winner in the 2008 European Year of Intercultural Dialogue.
Le Prix dans la catégorie 4 - Éducation, Formation et Sensibilisation a été décerné au Centre international de formation à la conservation du patrimoine bâti de Bontida en Roumanie. Cet établissement offre des formations théoriques et pratiques aux techniques de la taille de pierres, à la consolidation de maçonnerie et de charpenterie sur le terrain, à savoir au centre même, le château baroque de Bánffy qui est menacé. Des conférences sont suivies d'un apprentissage expérimental dans des ateliers pratiques dans lesquels les étudiants sont impliqués dans de réels projets de restauration. Jusqu’ici plus de 800 personnes (artisans et étudiants à l'université) de 13 pays européens et d'outre-mer ont reçu une formation et des parties conséquentes de l’exceptionnel château de Bánffy ont été restaurées. Le projet est hautement apprécié pour sa double approche :formation à la conservation / conservation grâce à la formation. Le Centre de formation à la conservation du patrimoine bâti est un excellent exemple d’échange transfrontalier de connaissances et un digne lauréat dans le cadre de 2008 Année Européenne du Dialogue Interculturel. |
