A Medal in Category 4 - Education, Training and Awareness Raising has been given to the International Heritage Photographic Experience (IHPE), the coordination of which is carried out by the Museu d'Història de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. Started in 1992, it aims to encourage young people to experience their cultural heritage and their history by documenting it through photographs. The experience is an international initiative, bringing together photographers from over 40 countries to show a common thread running through Europe ’s cultural heritage. Every year, an exhibition with catalogue is compiled from the best entries from the participating countries.
The project is valued for it being able to promote cultural heritage, especially among young people, and for the international dimension of this experience via its integration in the dynamics of the European Heritage Days.

Une Médaille dans la catégorie 4 - Éducation, Formation et Sensibilisation a été donnée à l’Expérience Photographique I nternationale des Monuments (EPIM), dont la coordination a été assurée par le Museu d'Història de Catalunya de Barcelone, Espagne. Lancé en 1992, il a pour objectif d’encourager les jeunes à expérimenter leur patrimoine culturel et leur histoire en les documentant par des photographies. L’expérience est une initiative internationale, réunissant des photographes issus de plus de 40 pays pour montrer un fil d’Ariane au travers du patrimoine culturel européen. Chaque année, une exposition des meilleures candidatures des pays participants, accompagnée d'un catalogue, est mise sur pied.
Le projet est apprécié pour sa capacité de promouvoir le patrimoine culturel, tout particulièrement auprès des jeunes ainsi que pour la dimension internationale de cette expérience par le biais de son intégration dans la dynamique des Journées Européennes du Patrimoine.
