A Medal in Category 1 - Conservation has been given to the conservation of the Mediaeval Bridge over the Río Truchas at Pobleta de San Miguel in Spain. The meticulous documentation and research on this small 14th-16th century bridge was followed by respectful conservation work that preserved all traces of the bridge's use over the centuries. The restoration of the paving of the bridge, necessary due to the threat of vegetation affecting its underlying structure, in particular showcases the approach of minimum intervention and maximum conservation. This approach was also applied to the surroundings of the bridge, such as to the protection of the neighbouring river banks.
The project is admired for the high quality of the research preceding the conservation of the bridge as well as for the excellent conservation work itself. Also the cooperation between two villages, two provinces and two regions is highly valued.

Une Médaille danslaCatégorie 1 - Conservation a été attribuée à la conservation du pont médiéval au-dessus du Río Truchas à Pobleta de San Miguel en Espagne. La documentation méticuleuse et les travaux de recherche sur ce petit pont du XIVe-XVIe siècle ont été suivis d’un ouvrage de conservation respectueux qui a préservé toutes les traces de l’utilisation du pont au travers des siècles. La restauration du pavage du pont, rendue nécessaire par une végétation menaçant d’affecter sa structure de base, illustre notamment le parti-pris d’une intervention minimale pour une préservation optimale. Cette approche a été également suivie en ce qui concerne les environs du pont, à l’instar de la protection des rivages voisins du fleuve.
Le projet est admiré pour la grande qualité des recherches effectuées en amont des travaux de conservation du pont ainsi que pour l’excellent ouvrage de préservation en tant que tel. Par ailleurs, la coopération entre deux villages, deux provinces et deux régions est digne d’éloges.
