EUROPEAN HERITAGE DAYS

In 2007, as in previous years, the European Heritage Days (EHDs), a joint action of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, was celebrated in 48 countries across Europe during the month of September. In some countries activities were also organised in the period ranging from August to November. Each national co-coordinator selected its own theme for 2007.
This year the European Launch Ceremony of the EHDs took place in the Belgrade Fortress, Serbia, on 21 September, as part of the programme of the Serbian Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
In order to enhance the importance of this event, a Colloquium on "The achievements of the Regional Programme for cultural and natural heritage in South-East Europe" was organisedand took place in the Serbian Parliament on 21 September 2007.
