The European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards were launched jointly by the European Commission and Europa Nostra, the pan-European Federation for Cultural Heritage, as part of the implementation of the Culture Programme, to celebrate exemplary initiatives in the many facets of Europe 's cultural heritage. The Prize is being organised from the International Secretariat of Europa Nostra in The Hague.
We are searching – as per 1 October 2008 – for a creative and dynamic person to fill the position of:

 

HERITAGE AWARDS COORDINATOR
(M/F, FULL-TIME)

 

The successful candidate will contribute to the further development of the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards, one of the flagship programmes of Europa Nostra and of the European Commission's Culture Programme.

Tasks:

Reporting directly to the Secretary General, responsible for the overall co-ordination, management and operation of the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards, including the following activities:

  • administration of the various pillars of the Scheme;
  • liaison with members of the different Juries and with applicants;
  • liaison with the European Commission;
  • editing and drafting of press releases and publications related to the Awards;
  • organisation of events related to the Awards (Jury sessions, European Heritage Awards Ceremony);
  • public relations of the Scheme.
The Candidate:
  • relevant university degree and/or several years of significant relevant experience (qualifications/experience in the fields related to the cultural heritage – Art History, Architecture, Archaeology etc. – are an asset);
  • proven ability to arrange and carry out a complex work programme;
  • fluency in English and good command of French;
  • creativity, accuracy, flexibility, ability to work independently, but also in a team;
  • excellent editing, organisational and communication skills.

  • the salary indication is up to €2500 gross per month for a 37.5 hours / 5 days working week.
