Philip GEOGHEGAN, representing Ireland, 2001 - 2004, Vice-Chairman 2005-2007
Architect, qualified at the University of Bristol, UK in 1966 and certified by the Royal West of England Academy. Member of the R.I.B.A. since 1969 and MRIAI since 1988.
Mr Geoghegan is a College Lecturer/Statutory Lecturer in Architect ure since 1971 and Director of the MSc in Urban Design programme at the School of Architecture, University College Dublin, since 1995.
Mr Geoghegan is also a practising architect. As a partner in Icon Architect ure and Urban Design, Philip and Delphine Geoghegan, he has carried out a substantial number of projects and also a number of studies for the Planning and Environment Committee at the Environmental Studies Centre (St. Oubyn, Jersey).
Mr Geoghegan is a member of the Association of Jersey Architect s, The Association of Conservation Officers, and The Urban Design Group. Mr Philip Geoghegan is a founder member and Council member of the European Institute of Architect ure and Planning in Rouen , France (1984-1988).
Mr Geoghegan has published studies in architecture, conservation, development and planning in the form of demonstration projects and feasibility studies which were funded by the Private and State sector as well as the EU.
Mr Geoghegan has extensive experience as a member in environmental and planning committees and has served as Chairman of An Taisce (The Irish National Trust).
