EUROPA NOSTRA ANNUAL CONGRESS 2008
EUROPA NOSTRA FORUM
The banks of the Tyne gave birth to an amazing engineering heritage. The depth of a river close to the sea, power derived from coal, intellectual and craft skills, enabled Newcastle and Gateshead to become one of the frontiers of the industrial revolution.
This year's Europa Nostra Forum will adopt engineering heritage as its subject. The Forum 'Securing the Future of Europe’s Engineering Heritage' will seek to highlight the importance of this aspect of Europe’s cultural heritage and raise the public awareness of the necessary measures for the better understanding and valuing of Europe’s Engineering Heritage, and for its adequate care in order to ensure and promote its appreciation by present and future generations. The Forum will include presentations of case studies and workshops which should serve as a dynamic and interactive platform for exchange of experiences and discussions.
The Forum will take place on Friday 13 June 2008 at The Sage Gateshead, the music and culture building designed by Sir Norman Foster on the banks of the River Tyne.
Compulsory registration before 20 May 2008.
