60 % INCREASE IN NUMBER OF ENTRIES FOR 2012 AWARDS

This year, 226 award entries were received at the Europa Nostra International Secretariat in The Hague. Last year, entries were received from 31 different countries, while this year entrants applied from 38 different countries ranging from Iceland to Russia, from Sweden to Portugal.
Most entries were received in Category 1: Conservation. Entries varied from the restoration of a classical country house to the rehabilitation of a mine, and anything and everything in between. Categories 2: Research, 3: Dedicated Service, and 4: Education, Training, and Awareness-Raising are also well represented with many remarkable studies, admirable people and exceptional projects. This year’s Awards Juries will certainly have a tough job with so many outstanding entries and wonderful projects.
