There are still places available for the Post-Congress Tour to Northumbrian Castles and Country Houses (Sunday 15 - Wednesday 18 June)
The Post-Congress tour will take you to classical private homes that are normally not open to the public (Netherwitton Hall and Blagdon Hall), impressive castles, country houses and enchanting gardens in one of the most beautiful regions of the United Kingdom. You will stay in the great Maften Hall Country House Hotel from the 19th century (with pool, spa and golf course) and its owner, Sir Hugh Blackett, will give a talk on the last evening. You will also have the opportunity to visit Alnwick Castle and its garden followed by an unforgettable dinner in the Pavilion overlooking the cascade.

EUROPA NOSTRA FORUM “Securing the Future of Europe’s Engineering Heritage”
This year's Europa Nostra Forum will adopt engineering heritage as its subject. The Forum “Securing the Future of Europe’s Engineering Heritage” will seek to highlight the importance of this aspect of Europe’s cultural heritage and raise the public awareness of the necessary measures for the better understanding and valuing of Europe’s Engineering Heritage, and for its adequate care in order to ensure and promote its appreciation by present and future generations. The Forum will include presentations of case studies and workshops which should serve as a dynamic and interactive platform for exchange of experiences and discussions.
The Forum will take place on Friday 13 June 2008 at The Sage Gateshead, the music and culture building designed by Sir Norman Foster on the banks of the River Tyne.
