BEAUTIFUL TBILISI, GEORGIA

Tbilisi is at the same time an old multinational, multicultural and multiconfessional city and modern, vibrant town with marvelous Art Nouveau buildings, great Stalinist constructions and contemporary architecture, heavy traffic, small and big shops, very active concert halls and important theatres. And many closed museums – because of long, substantial and expensive reconstruction. Already Alexander Pushkin wrote in early XIXth century that he has seen nothing so beautiful as Tiflis (the old name for Tbilisi). There are many exquisite medieval monuments to visit in the surroundings of Tbilisi, dating as early as from the V century, marvelous natural reasorts and slopes of high Caucasus, one of the mythical mountains with a variety of preserved fauna and flora species. The famous Georgian cuisine, with lot of chestnuts and cheese, splendid vines and welcoming smiles – these are the brands of Tbilisi and the whole nation.
