CULTURAL HERITAGE IN ACTION: Submit your innovative heritage practices in cities & regions by 27 April

Within Cultural Heritage in Action, we are looking for 30 local heritage practices that are innovative, inspiring for other cities and regions, and have a real impact on the ground. A special call to identify 30 best practices is open, with an extended deadline until 27 April 2020. Apply now and join our European community of heritage best practice!

Together with other European partners led by EUROCITIES, Europa Nostra launched this February Cultural Heritage in Action, an EU peer-learning programme for local and regional policy-makers and practitioners to exchange knowledge and experience on cultural heritage, with a focus on participatory governance, adaptive reuse and quality of interventions.

Cultural Heritage in Action aims to empower cities and regions to strengthen their cultural heritage policies and initiatives and to develop innovative solutions to preserve cultural heritage assets. It is one of the actions of the European Framework for Action on Cultural Heritage published by the European Commission in December 2018 to sustain the legacy of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018.

EUROCITIES is developing the project in partnership with Europa Nostra, KEA, ERRIN and the Architects’ Council of Europe from January 2020 to April 2021. Cultural Heritage in Action is funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme.

The project will produce a catalogue of 30 good practices from EU cities, regions, non-urban and rural areas and will organise 12 peer-learning visits bringing together 20+ participants per visit.

A call for participation to peer-learning visits will be launched in June 2020. It will be open to representatives from local and regional authorities and to cultural heritage stakeholders.
