European Heritage Policy Agora 2024 “Upholding Quality Principles in Heritage Conservation’’
Venue: Royal Palace – National Museum of Art (Throne Room)
Policy Agora Programme Booklet (PDF)
This edition of the European Heritage Policy Agora will focus on drawing links between flagship EU policies, such as the Green Deal and the New European Bauhaus, and key heritage conservation documents, such as the European Quality Principles, developed by ICOMOS on European Commission’s request, and the Davos Baukultur Quality System, emanating from the 2018 Davos Declaration.
The dialogue will emphasise the importance of quality in cultural heritage restoration and preservation, explore ways to make policy and practice more interconnected, and identify gaps for action. The event will provide an opportunity to discuss priorities in cultural heritage management ahead of the formation of the new European Commission.
The Agora shall take the form of a conversation between heritage professionals, representatives of civil society organisations, academic researchers and policy-makers.
The European Heritage Policy Agora is organised in the frame of the European Cultural Heritage Summit 2024, taking place in Bucharest from 6-8 October. For the full programme of the Summit, please visit www.europanostra.org/european-heritage-summit.
Organised by Europa Nostra and co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, the European Cultural Heritage Summit 2024 is held under the High Patronage of the President of Romania, H.E. Klaus Iohannis.
