Le Dimore del Quartetto celebrates 10 years of connecting music, heritage and communities

2026 marks an important milestone for Le Dimore del Quartetto, which celebrates ten years of activity as an creative cultural enterprise dedicated to the promotion of chamber music and cultural heritage, fostering social inclusion and innovation, throughout Europe. During the 10th anniversary event held on 1 July at Palazzo Corsini in Florence, Italy, Sneska Quaedvlieg-Mihailović, Secretary General of Europa Nostra, praised the remarkable achievements of Le Dimore del Quartetto, which is both a key partner and a Member Organisation of Europa Nostra as well as a winner of the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards.

10th Anniversary of Le Dimore del Quartetto Event

Since its creation in 2016, Le Dimore del Quartetto has developed an innovative model connecting young chamber music ensembles with historic residences, creating opportunities for artistic development while bringing new life to heritage places across Europe.

This pioneering initiative was recognised with a European Heritage Award / Europa Nostra Award in 2019. Today, Le Dimore del Quartetto continues to strengthen its European dimension as coordinator of the project MERITA Platform – where chamber Music, cultural hERItage and TAlent meet, featuring Europa Nostra as one of its key partners.

10th Anniversary of Le Dimore del Quartetto Event

The 10th anniversary celebrations began on 1 July 2026 in Florence, where Palazzo Corsini hosted the Cultural Heritage Forum, bringing together owners and managers of historic residences belonging to the Le Dimore del Quartetto network, as well as cultural partners and stakeholders from Italy and Europe. The event included thematic workshops, networking opportunities and a concert by the Trio Sheliak.

Sneska Quaedvlieg-Mihailović, Secretary General of Europa Nostra, and Elena Bianchi, Programme Manager of the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards, represented Europa Nostra at the event. The European Commission was represented by Vito Borrelli, Deputy Head of the European Commission Representation in Italy.

Europa Nostra’s Secretary General stated: “I am delighted to represent Europa Nostra at this 10th anniversary celebration of Le Dimore del Quartetto, a remarkable example of how cultural heritage can become a living space for creativity, innovation and connection, creating new opportunities for young musicians and heritage sites across Europe. I would also like to thank Francesca Moncada for including in today’s programme a moment to celebrate ASRI, an inspiring winner of the 2026 European Heritage Awards, which preserves and shares the memory and knowledge of Italian restoration practices for future generations,” stated

One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the European Heritage Award / Europa Nostra Award 2026, in the Research category, to the National Historical Archive of Italian Restorers (ASRI – Archivio Storico Nazionale dei Restauratori Italiani), based at Castello di Lurano, one of the first Italian historic residences to join the Le Dimore del Quartetto network.

10th Anniversary of Le Dimore del Quartetto Event

The anniversary celebrations will continue on 29 and 30 October 2026 in Cremona (Italy), the city of music. In collaboration with Fondazione Stauffer and the Museo del Violino of Cremona, Le Dimore del Quartetto will organise, within the framework of the European platform MERITA, two days of musical networking dedicated to connecting European networks, artists, professionals and institutions, and fostering dialogue and collaboration across the chamber music sector.
