17th International Cultural Tourism Conference and Awards

The European Cultural Tourism Network (ECTN) is organising its 17th International Conference for Cultural Tourism in Europe from 23 to 26 October 2024, in Dublin, Ireland.

This year, the conference will focus on the theme “European Collaboration Smart Tourism for Smart and Sustainable Cultural Tourism Destinations,” and will discuss the latest trends in the field of culture, heritage, smart and sustainable tourism, including innovation, accessibility and cultural tourism product development. The emphasis will be on the important role of cultural heritage and digitalisation in smart tourism.​

The event will also feature the Awards ceremony of the ECTN prize for ‘Destination of Sustainable Cultural Tourism 2024,’ which will take place on 24 October. The 2024 ECTN Awards are in partnership with Europa Nostra, the European Travel Commission and NECSTouR.

The ECTN 2024 Conference is organised in the framework of Dublin 2024 European Capital of Smart Tourism, the ‘Transition Pathway for Tourism’ co-implementation (European Commission DG GROW) , and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) concerning Tourism.

The European Cultural Tourism Network (ECTN)

The ECTN is the only pan-European network for Cultural Tourism Development and promotion, gathering 29 members from 19 countries, including 20 full members destination authorities, and 9 associate members Institutes, Universities and NGOs. It aims to bring together the tourism and cultural industry professionals working in different regions of Europe to exchange experience and information on best practice and to develop new approaches and innovations.

The ECTN is a member of the European Heritage Alliance, an informal European sectoral platform composed of European or international networks and organisations active in the wider field of cultural heritage.
