The Best in Heritage, Dubrovinik, Croatia

The 14th edition of The Best in Heritage conference will give a selection of the 28 most innovative and inspiring, award-winning museum, heritage and conservation projects well deserved attention of the international professional community. The programme promises a packed 2-day programme, with projects from China, United States, Japan, Iran, Australia, Canada, Russia and Europe taking the stage.

Six winners of the EU Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards 2014 will present and discuss their outstanding achievements: in the category Conservation, the Horta Museum in Brussels in Belgium, the Teatro Sociale in Bergamo in Italy, the Historical Route of the Lines of Torres Vedras in Lisbon in Portugal, and Dragomirna Church’s 17th Century Frescoes in Suceava in Romania (Grand Prix and Public Choice Award winner); and in the category Education, Training and Awareness-Raising, Passage: From a Rusty City to a New Miskolc in Hungary (Grand Prix), and the Coen Case in Hoorn in The Netherlands.

The participation of the audience is assured through Q&A sessions and discussions. In addition, the post-conference seminar “Financing Heritage Institutions in Times of Scarcity”, will take place on September 27th at Inter-University Centre Dubrovnik, in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Croatia.

The conference is organised in partnership with Europa Nostra, under special patronage of ICOM and under patronage of the City of Dubrovnik.
