Climate Heritage event during the UN Climate Change Conference (COP25), Madrid

Mobilising the culture and heritage sectors for climate action is the theme of the Climate Heritage side event that will take place on Tuesday 3 December during the 2019 UN Climate Change Conference (COP25) in Madrid.

The conference will explore the immense and virtually untapped potential that cultural heritage offers to drive climate action and support just transitions by communities towards low carbon, resilient futures. Learn how the sector is meeting the challenge, including via the new Climate Heritage Network and the EU Council Work Plan for Culture, which for the first time contains a climate change cluster. The panel will be coordinated by Andrew Potts, President of the Climate Change and Heritage Working Group of ICOMOS.

The 2019 UN climate change conference (COP25) will take place from 2 to 13 December in Madrid (Spain), under the Presidency of the Government of Chile. Europa Nostra as one of the founding signatories of the Climate Heritage Memorandum of Understanding, is a co-organiser of this Climate Change conference.
