Conservation of Architectural Ironwork’ 2-day CPD course in Bath on 8th-9th May 2025

Aimed at both craft practitioners and consulting professionals, this 2-day CPD course in the heart of a
World Heritage City provides a vital introduction to the conservation of historic ironwork.

• Design and manufacture
• Processes of restoration
• Surface preparation and treatments
• Specification & standards
• Procurement and pricing exercise

The lectures will be complemented by a walking tour to survey local ironwork and develop
a strategy for its conservation.
Course tutors GEOFF WALLIS & JOHN WALLIS have between them several decades of
experience in the field of ironwork conservation, chiefly through their management of Bristol
based Dorothea Restorations.
