DARTS-Contests for Digital Artists and Creative Writers

On May 1st the European project DARTS launched two international contests of digital art and creative writing. Theme of the contests are three European historical buildings. Artists and writers (over 18 yrs) can submit one or more works created alone or in team. Materials useful to inspire them are collected in the website www.e-darts.eu. The contests will have an unusual lifetime: one year! Participants should overcome two stages.

In the first stage of the contest of digital art the international jury of experts will select 18 artworks. The selected artists will stay free accommodation for a week-end at the historical building they chose to finalize their works. In the second stage the jury panel of experts will be chaired by Michel Reilhac, French artistic director, producer and transmedial designer. Three artworks will be awarded during the international Ravello Festival.

In the first stage of the contest of creative writing the submitted stories will be evaluated by the national juries, in the second stage the best stories will be translated in English and evaluated by the international jury panel. The winners will be awarded and invited as special guests to the Storytelling Festival in Belgium.
In the project website the participants will have their own workspace to upload biography and works. Internet users could give a preferential vote for an artist, a writer or a work. At the end of the contests the top rated works will be awarded by an important European cultural organization.

DEADLINE: 25th November 2015
