European Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards Ceremony in Yerevan

In 2023, the French-Armenian research project “Scientific-Archaeological Studies for the Preservation of Ererouyk” received a European Heritage Award / Europa Nostra Award in the Category Research. The project has created new knowledge about the Late Antique/Early Christian period in Ererouyk, through the study of the remains of its 6th-century basilica, ancient mausoleum and cemetery, ancient village and dam.

 

The Local Award Ceremony for this project will take place on 2 May 2024, from 17:00 to 19:00 (GMT+4, local time), at the French Embassy in Armenia, in Yerevan. After speeches from representatives of France, the European Union, and Europa Nostra, the Award plaque will be unveiled. Then, speakers for the project will take the floor to present their work.

On 3 May, in the morning, the European Heritage Awards plaque will be installed in Ererouyk with the attendance of local authorities and stakeholders.

The event will come to an end on 4 May, with a concert by French and Armenian musicians Nikolay Madoyan and Nikita Mndoyants at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall of the Yerevan Opera House, at 19:00. This duet concert is part of the European Heritage Hub programme.
