European Students’ Association for Cultural Heritage (ESACH) meeting 2020, MADRID

The 3rd ESACH Meeting 2020 Madrid, “Our common past, our future”, is organised by the European Students’ Association for Cultural Heritage (ESACH) and the MA Cultural Heritage in the 21st Century: Management and Research (Complutense University of Madrid) with the support of Europa Nostra and other heritage institutions and organisations from Spain and Europe. Following the previous work done in Girona (2018) and Genoa (2019), this meeting aims to innovate. ESACH aspires the meeting to be a place for knowledge and ideas exchange about our European heritage, but also an event that would serve for thinking about sustainable ways to manage it.

Individual professionals with a long career and also professional and social associations, like ICOMOS Spain and Hispania Nostra -Country Representation of Europa Nostra in Spain-, will be invited to participate in specific presentations and activities. There will also be a practical workshop on Cultural Heritage management and visits to heritage sites in the capital of Spain.

The meeting is open to ESACH’s members and non-members.

ESACH Meeting 2020 Madrid is conceived to give voice to many young heritage professionals and for that ESACH launches:

Call for Proposals for presentations (14 speakers). This call is looking for research project proposals that contribute to the most pressing debates in the Cultural Heritage field. The ESACH Madrid area of study focuses on Cultural Heritage management, therefore, proposals should take this aspect into account, valuing it positively when choosing presentations.
Call for Posters (8 speakers). This call is looking for posters to present investigation works, citizen participation projects, use of new technologies or ideas for a sustainable use of Heritage.

Deadline: 8th March 2020. Attendance grants are available.
