Exponatec Cologne 2021, 17-19 November
The 10th edition of Exponatec Cologne, Europe’s leading communication platform for the museum, conservation and restoration sectors, will take place from 17 to 19 November 2021 in Cologne. After the forced interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the fair will offer, once again, the representatives of the trade world the opportunity to meet in-person. Exponatec Cologne 2021 will link the classic core segments of museums, conservation, restoration and cultural heritage with future-oriented trends, such as virtual reality, 3D staging and new digital developments in the fields of restoration and scenography.

On 18 November, Europa Nostra Deutschland will organise a forum on “Digitalisation and Heritage” (read the programme flyer, in German). Digitalisation encompasses all areas of life and presents major challenges and opportunities. The time of the pandemic has made us even more aware of how digital formats and possibilities can facilitate cultural participation, even if physical encounters are not possible. Digital tools, such as smart devices, virtual reality and social media, offer many possibilities for cultural heritage, monument preservation and education. The forum will be moderated by Dr. Uwe Koch, Council Member of Europa Nostra.
