Pioneering Futures: Rethinking Cultural and Heritage Ecosystem

Join the event Pioneering Futures: Rethinking Cultural and Heritage Ecosystem on Tuesday 14 May 2024, from 10:00 to 18:30 (CEST), at De Hoorn, Sluisstraat 79, 3000 Leuven.

This event is organised by the KU Leuven Institute for Cultural Heritage – HERKUL, in partnership with Una Europa, as part of the official event calendar of the Belgian presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Divided in three discussion panels, Pioneering Futures will bring together policymakers, academics, practitioners, and wider stakeholders to discuss how the cultural and heritage ecosystems can face global challenges at a regional, national, and European level.

Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailović, Europa Nostra Secretary General and European Heritage Hub Project Leader is invited as a speaker for one of the panels.

De Hoorn is an ancient brewery designed in 1923, which has been converted into a creative hub by local entrepreneurs. This project received a European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards in 2016, in the category Conservation.

Registration for the event is compulsory, and available on the HERKUL website.
