INTO, the International National Trusts Organisation is a valued partner of Europa Nostra. Recently, during the Best in Heritage Conference in Dubrovnik, INTO also joined Europa Nostra in the Global Heritage Forum.

The International Conference of National Trusts was held for the first time in Africa. Successfully organised by the Cross Cultural Foundation of Uganda, guests from across the globe discussed global heritage issues over the course of five days with a special focus on conservation and development. Included in the conference were also special learning journeys to several of Uganda’s most endangered tangible and intangle heritage locations.

The meeting ended with the official signing of the Entebbe Declaration – accompanied by a special message of encouragement of Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni – by the Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development, the Hon. Busingye Mary Karooro Okurut. The declaration calls for the global protection of tangible and intangible heritage, especially in the economically developing nations.

Europa Nostra was represented at the INTO Conference by its Communication Adviser, Wolter Braamhorst.
