President Barroso invites Europa Nostra to contribute to the ‘New Narrative on Europe’ initiative

Europa Nostra’s Secretary General Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailović is among the personalities invited by the European Commission’s President José Manuel Barroso to take part in the Cultural Committee that will prepare the general assemblies and manifesto for the ‘New Narrative on Europe’ project. Set up in association with EC Vice-president Viviane Reding and Commissioner Androulla Vassiliou, this initiative aims to propose a new vision and identity for the European project, reflecting on its cultural values and unity.

“It was a great honour to receive the invitation from President Barroso to be part of this special team. I am very pleased to be representing Europa Nostra at this Cultural Committee which has the task to contribute to an inspiring and imaginative ‘New Narrative on Europe’. Culture, in particular cultural and natural heritage, has a key role to play in this process”, affirmed Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailović.
