Heritage remained at the heart of the event, reflected in the carefully selected venue, which uniquely combines the historic architecture of the Venetian Walls and the D’Avila Bastion with the contemporary design of Eleftheria Square by Zaha Hadid.

The event opened with the inauguration of the outdoor photo exhibition “Portraits of Women – Beyond the Stones”, presented jointly by ALIPH – International alliance for the protection of heritage  and Europa Nostra, which puts a spotlight on women working on the frontlines of cultural heritage protection in fragile and crisis-affected contexts.
